Zaen Hamid

With over 13 years of experience, Zaen Hamid serves as CEO, Asia for the Mercantile & Maritime Group of Companies. Zaen has also served as Director of Investments & Asset Management and has successfully led the Group’s global investments arm over the past three years.

Zaen has a diverse background in private equity, venture capital and international banking and comes with a wealth of emerging market experience having built several businesses over his career. Prior to joining MM, Zaen was Head of Global Expansion for Bakery Venture Capital and was a founding member of the energy infrastructure and power investment team at The Abraaj Group, an emerging markets private equity investor.
